I want to open a discussion about the promised tokenomics that were made 4-5 years ago and the miss communication between 0x labs and the community
There are to many unanswered question that want to find an answer it’s been over 2 years since we were presented a ZEIP to vote on the team decided to do things on their own without doing a proposal to ‘ask’
Further more are they extracting value through the protocol by charging for their api without giving anything back the protocol fees were turned of in 2021 back then it was called an experiment.
A big question poping up in my mind is how will the value that is being created in the future shared among the protocol and the company’s equity how will that be weighted?
To compete with centralized entitys like the nasdaq the api pricing has to be near 0
Staking should be turned on either immediately or through a proposal to vote on. The old staking model was broken a new percentage based one should be reintroduced starting with a universal 0.05% protocol fee that will gradually decrease with the aim sub > 0.01% only achievable once enough volume flows through the protocol.
I understand that current expenses are paid through these revenue streams they need to be abolished in the future. The company expenses have to be paid through a DAO that collects a share from the protocol fees this will be possible once enough revenue is being generated through the protocol fees itself
Furthermore how will the equity from 0x share/equity holders compare to the 0x protocol itself when it comes to revenue generation & revenue distribution
All investors are important not just from the token sale alone this includes the seed round and all VC rounds
As of rightnow i estimate a ratio of 70:30 between 0x token holder including the protocol against equity share holder
The total sum from the last two funding rounds from pantera & greylock is around 85 million they just joined much later especially with greylock when 0x was valued at around 1 billion
That’s where also alot of questions remain did both vc capitalists receive equity or also 0x tokens?
Im looking forward for real answers
